Charles H. MacDonaldElectric, Inc was the electrical contractor for the 48,300 SF lab and research facility fitout including cell culture labs, scientific clean room labs, PCO rooms, and freezer farm for Spark Therapeutics. Phase I of this project (demolition) began December of 2017 and subsequently followed by Phase II (Early Enabling Package) and finally Phase III (Fitout).
The Early Enabling phase of the project consisted of installation of 300kW diesel generator, 600A ATS, 400A ATS, 80kVA UPS, main distribution panel boards, and distribution conduits/conductors that would serve the lab.
The Fitout phase consisted of 42 Panelboards ranging from 60A to 500A, 9 K-Rated Transformers ranging from 75kVA to 150kVA, 60 Overhead Service Panels for laboratory furniture/equipment.

Charles H. MacDonald Electric, Inc was the electrical contractor for the newly built Museum Towers 2 in Philadelphia, PA. This new residential construction project broke ground in 2015, and was completed in March of 2017.
The building comprises of 17 stories and 270 rooms. We also worked on the new construction of a 140,000 square foot, 4-story garage for the residents. The new Museum Towers 2 has ground floor and rooftop amenities for its residents including a ground floor gym and rooftop deck with a small kitchenette. Museum Towers 2 was tied together with the existing structure in Museum Towers 1. In addition to the new construction of Museum Towers 2, Charles H. MacDonald Electric, Inc installed new lobby lighting and new amenities in Museum Towers 1 for the residents.
In Museum Towers 2, Charles H. MacDonald Electric, Inc installed a 3,000 amp Aluminum Bus-Duct for floors 2 thru 9 as well a as 4,000 amp Aluminum Bus-Duct for floors 9 thru 16 which allowed us to install new 800 amp bus plugs which fed new 800 amp main distribution panels on each floor providing electrical service for the residents. Each 800-amp panel fed individual residential units. Per the new NEC code for residential apartments, we installed AFCI circuit breakers. We also installed a 300kw diesel generator with a skid-based fuel tank to power the parking garage and apartment towers for loss of power.
